Kriskras is a walking app made in the Netherlands. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who helps us process it, and how you can delete it. Questions? Email support@kriskras.app.

What we collect and why

We do not show ads, sell your data, track you across other apps or websites, or use health data for marketing. The app contains no advertising or analytics tools.
Health data
Steps, distance and calories are health data. We only read them with your explicit permission, which you can withdraw at any time: switch off Health data in the app (Profile › Health data) and remove Kriskras's access in Apple Health or Health Connect. Health data is stored with your account (see below), is never stored in iCloud, and is never shared for advertising or marketing.
Who helps us process your data
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) stores your account and app data. The database is located in the Netherlands (europe-west4). Google processes this data on our behalf.
- OpenStreetMap / Overpass API (overpass-api.de and overpass.private.coffee): after a walk, the app asks for the streets in the area around your route. Only map coordinates are sent, never your name or account.
- Apple Maps (iPhone) and Google Maps (Android) show the map in the app.
- Google Sign-In (Android only), if you choose to sign in with Google.
Who can see what
Your routes are only visible to you. Members of your Circle see your name, your weekly steps, distance and street count, walks you choose to share (distance, time and number of streets) and kudos. Nobody else sees your data.
How long we keep it and how to delete it
We keep your data as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile › Account › Delete account. This immediately deletes your account, walks, step history, journeys, blocked people, profile, the walks you shared with your Circle and your Circle membership. You can also delete single walks in the app. Reports you sent are kept only as long as needed to handle them.
Launch mailing list (website)
If you sign up on kriskras.app to hear when Kriskras launches, we store your email address, your language (Dutch or English) and the date you signed up in our Firebase database in the Netherlands (europe-west4). We use it only to email you about the launch of Kriskras, never for anything else, and we never share or sell it. Nobody can read the list from the website. To be removed, email support@kriskras.app and we delete your address. We delete the whole list at the latest 3 months after the launch.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and object to how we use it. Email support@kriskras.app. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Age
Kriskras is meant for people aged 16 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.

Wat we verzamelen en waarom
- Naam en e-mailadres: om je account te maken en te beveiligen, en je naam te tonen in je Circle.
- GPS-route van wandelingen die je vastlegt, en de straten die je liep: om je route en je Atlas te tekenen. Alleen tijdens een wandeling die je zelf start; de app meet op de achtergrond door tot je de wandeling beëindigt.
- Stappen, loopafstand en actieve calorieën per dag uit Apple Gezondheid of Health Connect: voor je dagdoel, ringen en geschiedenis. Alleen na jouw toestemming. Kriskras leest alleen en schrijft nooit iets in Apple Gezondheid of Health Connect.
- Dagdoel en instellingen: zodat de app werkt zoals jij hem instelt.
- Circle-gegevens: de naam van de Circle, wandelingen die je deelt (afstand, tijd, aantal straten), kudos en je stappen, afstand en straten van deze week. Andere leden zien nooit je route.
- Meldingen die je doet en mensen die je blokkeert: om Circles veilig te houden.
- Een account-ID: om je gegevens aan je account te koppelen.
We tonen geen advertenties, verkopen geen gegevens, volgen je niet via andere apps of websites en gebruiken gezondheidsgegevens niet voor marketing. De app bevat geen advertentie- of analysetools.
Gezondheidsgegevens
Stappen, afstand en calorieën zijn gezondheidsgegevens. We lezen ze alleen met jouw uitdrukkelijke toestemming, die je altijd kunt intrekken: zet Health data uit in de app (Profile › Health data) en haal de toegang van Kriskras weg in Apple Gezondheid of Health Connect. Ze worden bij je account bewaard, nooit in iCloud, en nooit gedeeld voor advertenties of marketing.
Wie ons helpt
- Google Firebase (Authentication en Cloud Firestore) bewaart je account en app-gegevens, in een datacenter in Nederland (europe-west4). Google verwerkt die gegevens in onze opdracht.
- OpenStreetMap / Overpass API (overpass-api.de en overpass.private.coffee): na een wandeling vraagt de app de straten rond je route op. Alleen kaartcoördinaten, nooit je naam of account.
- Apple Kaarten (iPhone) en Google Maps (Android) tonen de kaart in de app.
- Inloggen met Google (alleen Android), als je daarvoor kiest.
Wie wat ziet
Je routes zie alleen jij. Leden van je Circle zien je naam, je stappen, afstand en straten van deze week, wandelingen die je deelt (afstand, tijd en aantal straten) en kudos. Verder niemand.
Bewaren en verwijderen
We bewaren je gegevens zolang je een account hebt. Je verwijdert je account wanneer je wilt in de app: Profile › Account › Delete account. Dan worden je account, wandelingen, stappengeschiedenis, tochten, geblokkeerde mensen, profiel, gedeelde wandelingen en je Circle-lidmaatschap meteen verwijderd. Losse wandelingen kun je ook verwijderen. Meldingen bewaren we alleen zolang nodig is om ze af te handelen.
Aanmelden voor de lancering (website)
Als je je op kriskras.app aanmeldt om te horen wanneer Kriskras uitkomt, bewaren we je e-mailadres, je taal (Nederlands of Engels) en de datum van aanmelden in onze Firebase-database in Nederland (europe-west4). We gebruiken het alleen om je te mailen over de lancering van Kriskras, nergens anders voor, en we delen of verkopen het nooit. Niemand kan de lijst vanaf de website inzien. Wil je eraf, mail dan support@kriskras.app en we wissen je adres. De hele lijst wissen we uiterlijk 3 maanden na de lancering.
Je rechten
Volgens de AVG mag je je gegevens inzien, laten verbeteren, verwijderen of een kopie krijgen, en bezwaar maken. Mail naar support@kriskras.app. Je kunt ook een klacht indienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Leeftijd
Kriskras is bedoeld voor mensen van 16 jaar en ouder.
Wijzigingen
Verandert dit beleid, dan passen we de datum bovenaan aan en melden we belangrijke wijzigingen in de app.
